This is Michael's first birthday cake. Under the melting frosting is Sunshine Lemon Cake, which is like a pound cake. Michael really enjoyed the frosting, and tried to blow out the candle (David helped finish the job).
Overheard in the basement, as David and Sarah were cooking HuHot (Mongolian barbeque) food in the play kitchen:
David: Sawah?
Sarah: What, Dawad?
David: Do you know who God is?
Sarah: No.
David: God is...God is... da Father.
Sarah: Oh. I the girl who stirs things.
At least they've got that straight. :)

We certainly do miss Shawn birthday cakes! I was all worried about how to decorate the thing when David suggested Dots candies (an excuse to buy them, I think) and Dan bought an Easter duck because it was cute.
