Today’s Learning

I think it might be fun to keep track of the things we’ve learned at home, so here goes!

Today Michael and I made caramel apple dip on the stove, and he did pretty much all the work, including melting the butter, measuring the brown sugar accurately, and stirring it until it was all melted together.

David cut up apples into slices for the first time today, and he also made a delicious tomato bisque soup from scratch.  He was shocked to discover that tomato soup has sugar, onions, and flour in it.  SmileHe also worked on making the toast and bacon for BLT sandwiches for supper.

Sarah took it upon herself to sweep the floor in the dining room because it was crunchy and gritty.  She even got out the little dustpan and got rid of the grit in a timely manner.

Sarah and Michael entertained friends who are leaving for travels in the southern US tomorrow.

David practiced piano and violin, and had his first basketball practice tonight.  He figured out how to play the first half of Minuet in G.

We all watched some adorable baby pandas from China and learned a little more about Jakarta, Indonesia from Phoenix Phaxx.

Sarah and Michael cleaned up Michael’s room and folded all of his clothes before taking Baby Boy A and Bluebell for walks.  Sarah taught Michael how to swaddle Baby Boy A and then they put him into a hammock on the wall.  Sarah also fed Baby Boy A plenty of warm milk in his bottle before bed.

David and Sarah learned how to load and run the new washing machine properly.  Sarah also loaded and ran the dryer.

I guess it was a productive afternoon!
