It was really cold, so we got to break out the winter coats. Fortunately, the school colors are purple and gold, so we were able to match them at least a little.
This strange picture is of our latest science experiment.
Can you really catch more flies with honey than vinegar? Actually, we are testing wine and apple cider vinegar, as honey is extremely sticky and really doesn't attract too many flies in our kitchen.
As you can see, the jars are nearly identical and set up on the banana hook, where the fruit flies generally congregate. We made funnels out of parchment paper, then Dan sealed them to the jars with packing tape. The flies fly down to the liquid, but most can't find their way out and eventually drown.
Which jar will win?
